NetSolar Inc. has entered into a strategic partnership with Climate Smart Ventures (CSV) to help accelerate commercial and industrial solar adoption across the Philippines through better access to financing.
The partnership was established under a joint venture and subscription agreement focused on developing a 44-megawatt distributed renewable energy portfolio over the next 12 to 24 months. The initiative aims to support rooftop and on-site solar projects for commercial, industrial, private, and public-sector customers, while creating financing pathways that make solar projects easier to implement. The partnership was announced on July 28, 2026
Why Financing Matters?
For many businesses, the biggest barrier to going solar is not interest, it is capital.
A solar system can significantly reduce electricity costs, but some companies postpone the investment because they want to preserve cash for operations, expansion, inventory, or other business priorities. Through this partnership, NetSolar and CSV aim to provide financing solutions that can help businesses move forward with solar without carrying the full upfront cost alone.
What the Partnership Brings?
The collaboration combines the strengths of both companies:
- NetSolar Inc. contributes its experience in solar project development, engineering, installation, and asset operations, with more than 50 MW deployed across over 220 projects nationwide.
- Climate Smart Ventures brings expertise in transaction advisory, sustainable finance, and capital raising, helping structure financing solutions that can support commercial and industrial renewable energy projects.
By combining execution capability with financing expertise, the partnership is designed to help businesses adopt solar more quickly and efficiently.
A Practical Opportunity for Businesses
This financing-focused partnership is particularly relevant for companies with high daytime electricity consumption, such as:
- Manufacturing facilities
- Warehouses and logistics hubs
- Commercial buildings
- Hotels and hospitality businesses
- Retail establishments
- Schools and institutions
With financing options available, businesses may be able to install solar systems while preserving working capital and improving long-term energy cost predictability.
A Step Toward Energy Investments
As electricity costs continue to affect operating expenses across industries, access to financing can be the difference between delaying a project and moving forward with a long-term energy solution. The NetSolar-CSV partnership is designed to help more organizations make that transition with greater financial flexibility.
